U.S. not to deal militarily with Syria and Iran ---
April 14, 2003
American officials recently said in closed conversations that the U.S. will act against Syria and Iran, but not by military means. The American administration is very angry with Syria for its support of Iraq during the war and its willingness to take in defectors from Saddam Hussein's regime. As for Iran, the administration suggests working with the UN and Atomic Energy Commission to halt the Iranian nuclear program.

Sharon to give away Bethlehem, Bethel and Shilo -- April 14, 2003
http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2003/donnac414.htm
Sharon has long been a champion of the settlement movement, but earned the wrath of Jewish settlers in the Sinai when he oversaw the uprooting of fledgling communities there after the signing of a peace accord with Egypt in 1979, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported.

Bethlehem was reoccupied by Israel last June along with six other Palestinian West Bank cities. All seven obtained self-rule under interim peace deals in 1993-94 that Sharon opposed while out of power.

CIA security for U.S. led roadmap--April 14, 2003 (quintet...Brits too)

From David Dolan April 2, 2003
"Analysts point out that Syria possesses a substantial military force, including hundreds of advanced Scud D missiles, a large tank and air force, a standing army of around 400,000 soldiers arrayed in some 15 divisions, and over 60 Soviet-built SAM 21 multiple warhead missiles. The Assad regime is also known to have huge stockpiles of chemical weapons. While no match for advanced US or UK technological capabilities, Israeli analysts say Damascus has the ability to severely disrupt the coalition war plan in Iraq.

Noting that some former US military commanders are warning that American forces are becoming “overextended and at risk” around the globe, as retired Gulf War General Barry McCaffrey put it in the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, some Israeli military analysts say the entrance of Syria into the war could easily draw in Israel in support of outnumbered coalition forces.
"

IHT : Israel needs US Security forces--
March 31, 2003
If it is to consider joining talks about a nuclear-free Middle East, Israel would require an iron-clad security guarantee from the United States.
It should receive one in the context of a broad settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Palestinian Authority may ask for NATO or
U.S. peacekeeping troops to oversee a settlement. This, too, should be provided.

If such progress can be made, it is not inconceivable that Israel would agree to discuss a nuclear-free Middle East. Previous Israeli governments expressed interest in the concept. It would lead to a verified abandonment of all nuclear ambitions by Israel and all its neighbors, including Iran. The key, however, would be the continuing presence of U.S. troops, not promises given by other nations to remain non-nuclear.

Wehbe also warned the Pentagon that if the US military decides to move against Syria, Damascus will respond with military force. He said Syria is prepared "to react in kind."....

David Dolan, Jerusalem --March 29, 2003
"My source added that Israeli security analysts are increasingly concerned that the conflict in Iraq—which officials here have solidly, if quietly, backed
(although Israel is not even listed by Washington as one of the 40 odd countries said to be supporting the “coalition of the willing”)—
might end up more closely resembling Israel’s controversial and protracted 1982 advance into Lebanon, rather than the 1991 Gulf War.

CIA "security core" for Mideast peace -- March 24, 2003
According to the American plan, the U.S. will head the supervising mechanism of the road map's implementation, helped by the other members of the Quartet - Russia, the EU and UN - and other elements, a possible hint of direct British involvement.

The supervising mechanism will include
four committees:
1. the security committee will deal with reforms in the PA security apparatus and renewing security coordination,
monitoring Palestinian activity against terror as well as the army's withdrawals from PA areas.

The
2. special operations committee will deal with
the settlement freeze,
evacuation of the illegal outposts,
a cessation of the incitement and
reopening of Palestinian institutions in East Jerusalem.

Two other committees will deal with
3. civil reforms in the PA, and 4.humanitarian affairs.

CIA operates "ghost prison" for Muslim terrorists in Jordan -- Oct.14, 2004
The most senior Muslim terrorists so far captured by the United States are being held in an ultra-secret "ghost" prison in Jordan run by the CIA, according to a report published yesterday by a respected security expert.
The base is beyond the reach of the American courts, which is likely to be one of its principal attractions.
The article was written by Yossi Melman, who is considered a leading authority on intelligence and has a wide network of contacts in the Israeli and American security establishments.

Quoting "international intelligence sources", the report said the CIA's prisoners at the facility included Three of the terrorist movement 's most senior figures, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Abu Zubaydah, and Riduan Isamuddin.
"Their detention outside the US enables CIA interrogators to apply interrogation methods banned by US law, and to do so in a country where co-operation with the Americans is particularly close, thereby reducing the danger of leaks,"
Mr Melman wrote.
Jordan, which is seen as a key ally in the war on terrorism.

The Hashemite kingdom is in the pocket of the Bush administration and Jordan offers a calm environment compared to Iraq, even Egypt, and it is weak enough that reasonable pressure could have convinced the Hashemite kingdom to host such a thing.

Since the invasion of Afghanistan three years ago, the location of America's most prized prisoners has been the subject of endless speculation but little hard information. It has been suspected that some of the world's most dangerous terrorists were kept on US territories in the Pacific, or aboard naval vessels.
and the al-Jafr prison in Jordan's southern desert has been described as a suspected CIA detention centre.

A report on these so-called ghost prisoners, issued on Tuesday by Human Rights Watch claimed that they were being held somewhere so secret that President George W Bush had asked the CIA not to tell him where it was.
Most of the al-Qa'eda detainees arrested in Afghanistan were transferred to the US base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, but according to the report some were held in Pakistan before being moved to Jordan.

Human Rights Watch reported that America is holding prisoners in more than 24 secret detention centres, of which "at least half operate in total secrecy".
The CIA is prohibited from conducting operations in the United States. America describes the system of transferring prisoners in secret from one country to another as "extraordinary rendition."

ISRAEL'S DEPLOYMENT OF PATRIOT MISSILE SYSTEMS
Israel is deploying more Patriot missile interceptor batteries in anticipation of a possible war on Iraq later this month. A second
German-supplied Patriot battery is expected to be operational within days, to enhance similar batteries already deployed in the country, a senior security official said.

US soldiers who served in the joint Juniper Cobra 2003 exercises held earlier in the year have remained in the country and will man the US Patriot batteries to be deployed shortly in the center of the country.

The Patriots are capable of intercepting enemy missiles at a lower altitude than the Arrow missile, which is able to intercept incoming missiles at an altitude of 70 kilometers. They are only part of a combined air defense system that includes the air force's long-range F-15 fighters. Officials have described the combined system as the best in the world.

The air force remains in a high state of readiness in the event that the country comes under attack, officials said. To boost the number of missiles ready for use, an agreement has been reached with Boeing, which will speed up their manufacture. (Jerusalem Post)

A top Egyptian security official is warning he expects "a wave of Islamic terror attacks against the country, planned and prepared outside of Egypt," according to G2 Bulletin's intelligence sources.
The terror threat in Egypt is being taken so seriously among western and Israeli intelligence agencies that they are actively considering the possibility of the fall of President Hosni Mubarak's regime and pondering what might become of Cairo's weapons of mass destruction in such an eventuality.

Israel already under the EU - US ---
Jan 18, 2003
USEUCOM
The United States is raising the level of its military coordination with Israel in advance of its expected war against Iraq.
Next week, General Charles Wald, deputy commander of the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), will visit here. Wald, who is in charge of ties with the Israel Defense Forces, will meet with Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz and senior IDF officers. He will apparently also visit the American soldiers who came to Israel with the Patriot missile batteries.

Wald took over as deputy head of USEUCOM just last month, and his trip to Israel is being billed as a get-acquainted visit. Israeli sources, however, predict the talks will focus on the expected war with Iraq. "Our strategic coordination with the Americans is at a much higher level than it was during the 1991 Gulf War," a senior security source said.
Wald, a fighter pilot who saw action in both Vietnam and Iraq, is also considered the acting commander of
USEUCOM, which has responsibility for Israel. In the U.S. military hierarchy, the official commander of USEUCOM is also the head of NATO's military forces and thus spends most of his time running the NATO command in Brussels.

Wald is familiar with the Middle East having served as commander of Central Command's air forces in the late 1990s. Central Command is responsible for the Gulf states.......

Wald's visit will follow hard on the heels of that of Gen. Charles Simpson, who left the country on Wednesday. Simpson, the director of air and space operations at USEUCOM, has been appointed chief liaison officer with Israel in the event of a war with Iraq. Simpson met with Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazy and other senior officers to set up working procedures for coordination in the event of a war. Other members of the American liaison unit who came with Simpson are staying here to set up a system of communications between the IDF and the Pentagon.

Israel's Role in the UN-WEOG "Western European and Others Group"
The WEOG is the only regional group which is not purely geographical, but rather geo-political, namely a group of states that share a Western-Democratic common denominator. "The SWELLING of JORDAN"
RE-Settling the PLO... The ELON PEACE PLAN -- Nov. 15-2002
Named for Benny Elon, the relatively small Moledet Party's leader and a member of the Knesset, the new peace plan calls for transferring Arabs from the West Bank and other areas to what Elon calls the "existing state of Palestine" – the nation of Jordan.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=29671

This plan calls for the PLO to become Jordanians. The Jordainians have virulently resisted this ever since 1948. How then could this plan be feasible ?

All they would have to do is make Trans-Jordan (the West Bank) part of the state of Jordan. Yes, that would mean that Israel would surrender yet another large chunk of land to her neighbors (like she did when she gave away the Sinai to the Egyptians in the C.D.P.A.
3-26-1979).

Would this new addition to the State of Jordan then be "the swelling of Jordan" as the Bible states in
Jeremiah 12:5, 6; ( and Jer. 49:19 and Jer. 50:44)

" and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trusted, they weary thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan ?
"For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee;
yea, they have called a multitude after thee;
believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee."
Jeremiah 12:5, 6

Is it a "coincidence" that K. Annan is calling for Israel to surrender her land at the same time as the Elon " Peace" Plan ?

Kofi ANNAN : Israel, Give up land from '67 war ! Nov 14, 2002
The only solution, he said, is for Israel to relinquish the land the Arabs lost in the 1967 Mideast War and to live side by side with a Palestinian nation.

Annan, who met with President George W. Bush later at the White House, drew applause from students assembled in a university field house as he repeatedly criticized Israel and its policies.
The secretary-general's speech marked the 25th anniversary next week of the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's historic visit to Jerusalem that led to a peace treaty in 1979 in which Egypt recovered all the land it had lost in the 1967 Mideast war.

Bereft of oil or valuable resources, the impoverished nation of Djibouti has long been a desirable base for Western militaries. Put simply, what Djibouti offers is location. It is close to Yemen and near the Bal el Mandeb Strait, a critical choke-point where the Red Sea meets the Gulf of Aden. The sea lanes near Djibouti are particularly crucial since they are used for commercial shipping and to transport American war matériel to the Persian Gulf.

Bibi will return ( Aug-01)
Bibi gave up more territory during his three years in office than Barak and Sharon put together. Bibi made a commitment to pull back from Hebron (Peres never dared) and carried it out to the letter. He signed the Wye accords. In Bibi's day, there was no major surge of settlement activity. Together with Frenkel, he drew up blueprints for a solid economy. ......
I'm not saying that Bibi is already on his way back, but the person who is paving the road for him is Sharon.
One fine morning, the headlines will scream: Bibi has returned.

Saudis have Chinese long-range missiles -- Nov 2, 2002
Pakistan as intermediary
Saudi Arabia could be buying a nuclear capability from China through a proxy state with Pakistan serving as the cutout," the report said. "If Riyad's influence over Pakistan extends to its nuclear programs, Saudi Arabia could rapidly become a de facto nuclear power through a simple shipment of missiles and warheads."

Carey discusses peace in the MidEast. Oct 25-2002
Leaders of the three main religions in the disputed Holy Land will on Friday begin a second day of talks in London to try to provide new impetus to the Middle East peace process.
Already, they have made an impassioned plea for closer inter-faith dialogue to address the religious roots of much of the tension.
The call follows an unprecedented meeting in Egypt at which leaders of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities pledged to promote better understanding of their beliefs and called for a religiously sanctioned ceasefire on all sides.

Bush Officially recognizes Jerusalem as Capitol--- October 1-2002
urges his administration to shift the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,

BUSH Recognizes JERUSALEM---Arutz Sheva --October 1-2002
US President George Bush has signed a Congress-approved resolution calling for the United States to officially recognize Jerusalem as the Jewish State's legitimate capital.  Bush says, however, that his administration's
policy toward Jerusalem will remain unchanged.  In the words of his press secretary, the resolution's Jerusalem provisions are "advisory, not mandatory."  As such, Bush has no plans to relocate the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as urged by the bill.

Congress passed the Jerusalem addendum last week as part of the government's Foreign Relations Authorization Act for the year 2003.  The resolution states, inter alia, that official US government documents that
list country's capitals will have to identify Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.  A second provision stipulates that US citizens born in Jerusalem may request that "Israel" be included as their country of birth. Until now, only "Jerusalem" appeared - as if the city were a separate independent entity.

State Department spokesman Richard Boucher criticized the Congressional resolution, saying that it hinders the "advance[ment] of [US] interests in the region and promoting a just and lasting peace." Boucher added that Secretary of State Colin Powell believes the city's future must be determined in the course of negotiations between Israel and the PA.

Djibouti and Obock---Horn of Africa... Sept 30-2002
The five-month-old U.S. base in this former French colony just miles across the Red Sea from Yemen and within striking distance of Iraq is no longer a secret. But finding out what the Americans are up to is another matter.
Nothing was said about the 1,500 Marines training at Obock, 30 miles north of Djibouti town across the Gulf of Tadjoura

Djibouti's acting foreign minister, Mahamoud Ali, said American troops have been conducting large-scale exercises involving ground troops, helicopters, boats and AC-130 planes fitted with air-to-surface missiles. Giant U.S. Air Force cargo planes swoop in and out of Djibouti's small airport every day as camouflaged MH-53 helicopters with the word "Marines" barely visible on their shells ferry men and equipment to and from Le Monier.

Foreign Legionnaires in tight khaki shorts and white "kepi" caps amble through town when they're not out on grueling exercises. French soldiers with shaved heads and tattoos pack the bars and restaurants at night. They're often joined by some of the 1,000 German soldiers who have been in Djibouti since January as part of the U.S.-led war on terrorism. The Americans seem to stay home at night.
During the day the lobby of the Djibouti Sheraton looks like a military operations center as uniformed Germans mingle among
plainclothes American security officials, pistols strapped to their sides.

Western intelligence analysts say that Iraq has readied a number of its longer range aircraft for "one-way missions," carrying non-conventional payloads and targeting cities in Israel. According to the analysts, the Iraqi air force has managed to prepare a number of its Soviet-made Tupolev-16 and Sukhoi-25 aircraft for suicide missions against Israel, which would be equipped with a "dirty bomb" (radiological weapon) as a possible payload.

Massive US equipment to Israel--Sept 11-2002
Israel is bracing for what defense sources termed a massive pre-positioning of U.S. military equipment in the Jewish state as part of preparations for any Washington-led war against Iraq.
The sources said the U.S. Army plans to bring such systems as PAC-2 anti-missile and anti-aircraft batteries, ammunition, military systems and logistical supplies. They said the equipment would begin arriving in Israel by air and sea over the next week.[Sept 15-20]

The U.S. equipment would be stored in unspecified army and air force bases, the sources said. More than 50 U.S. Army personnel have arrived in Israel to arrange for the delivery and stockpiling of the equipment.
The U.S. move is part of the strategic cooperation between Jerusalem and Washington and bolsters existing U.S. military stockpiles in Israel, the sources said. They said that over the last few months the United States has moved equipment from Israel to other areas of the Middle East.

MidEast peace plan to be discussed at next UN General Assembly
(Sept -2002)
AMMAN — The United States and other key diplomatic players are to discuss a new Middle East peace plan on the sidelines of next month's UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher said on Tuesday.
The plan is likely to contain a detailed timetable after His Majesty King Abdullah convinced US President George W. Bush of the need to flesh out his offer in a June policy speech of US support for Palestinian statehood within three years on certain conditions, the foreign minister told AFP.

The US president's four-fold vision:
* stipulated the creation of an efficient Palestinian security force,
* the drawing up of a
Palestinian constitution,
* the implementation of
reforms,
* and the convening of an international conference to set up a
Palestinian state in three years.

"The international conference on the Middle East will be one of the steps of this plan of action which starts today and ends in mid-2005 with the creation of a Palestinian state."

Is this the time of the myrtle trees ??
Zechariah 1: 8-21
Zechariah Chapter 6:1-9

From Jerry Golden--July 31-2002
http://thegoldenreport.com
When will this war begin, is a question I am asked daily, I know what they mean, but I can't help but to answer with, what are we in now, if not a war? But the regional war must start soon, very soon. And for several reasons, I will spell some of them out for you.
Syria
is building up supplies to the Hizbullah in preparation for an all out attack. In fact, my guess is Syria will be the first to get hit by Israel just to stop the northern threat as quickly as possible. (Isaiah 17:1)

Egypt
is slowing and quietly preparing and I think they really want to lead the charge, as they want revenge for the defeats of 67 and 73.

Iraq will has promised too send missiles to Israel armed with God only knows what at the first attack from George W. Bush, for two reason, one to united the Arab World in the fight against the US and Israel,
and the other reason is religion "Jihad".

Iran, the most serious threat in the entire region is the best armed as far as missiles go, thanks to
North Korea and Russia. In fact, Russia is in the process of helping them build as many as 6 nuclear reactors, and it has been believed for some time now that China and North Korea has armed them with nuclear warheads, already. Making it necessary for them to be very high on the list for preempt attack from both the US and Israel. .....

Israel will have to use everything she has to defend herself, for unlike others in this fight, we cannot allow ourselves to lose even a single battle. We have a very small country and no place to hide. So nuclear weapons are a very real possibility. In fact, it is believed that Israel has developed small tactical nuclear weapons just for such a battle.
But when we use them, there is no doubt the rest of the world will turn completely against us, as if they haven't already.

As for the Intifada and Yasser Arafat, there is but one way to solve this problem, and no one in this world is going to like it. But the survival of Israel depends on it being done. It is a question of when will the leaders gains the intestinal fortitude to do it.

WEOG.. Israel, EU, ANZUS
The WEOG is the only regional group which is not purely geographical, but rather geo-political, namely a group of states that share a Western-Democratic common denominator. WEOG comprises 27 members: all the West European states; and the "others" — Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
Israel’s membership to the WEOG is severely limited. Every four years Israel will have to reapply for membership, since its status is only temporary. Israel is not allowed to present candidacies for open seats in any UN body for two years and is not able to compete for major UN bodies, such as the Economic and Social Council, for a longer period. Also, for the next two years, Israeli representatives are not allowed to run for positions on the UN Council.

Netanyahu and the Centrist Party Opposition
Despite his assured stance, Netanyahu can hardly brush off the vow Mordechai made this week: "I will do anything and everything I can to bring Netanyahu down." This vow, in fact, is what unites all the top officials in the still-unnamed centrist party. Three of the centrists - Mordechai, Meridor and Milo - are prominent former Likud figures who know Netanyahu intimately and served under his leadership before bolting the party. The fourth, Shahak, was chief of staff for much of Netanyahu's two-and-a-half years in office.
But beyond the polished phrases that they and their professional advisers are certain to come up with, one message will prevail: Netanyahu is not fit to be prime minister. This was Mordechai's refrain during the past week.

For his part, Shahak, when he recently announced his entry into politics, had a slightly different version, calling Netanyahu a "danger to the nation."
