GET
IN THE ARK !
by Lori Fiechter
Lori pg 2
Gen. 7:1; Heb.11:7; II Peter 3:3-6
The storm is coming; the ark is Jesus
I've been preaching for so many years,
The sermon's growing stale.
I've warned and pleaded patiently
Yet all my efforts failed.
I'm taunted, mocked and greeted by:
"It's Mr. Gloom and Doom!"
I answer with, "Get in the ark;
We still have lots of room."
"No, thanks. We'll party here outside;
And watch for that stuff that you call rain."
(imagine: water from the sky;
This Noah guy's deranged!)
Why do I bother warning them?
Why do I even try?
I hammer, preach, and build and call;
I work and watch and cry.
They know my sermon now by heart:
"It's going to rain; Get in the ark."
I warn: "This is no joke, no lark;
It soon will flood; Get in the ark.
I hear them laughing as they walk away,"well, it ain't gonna rain today"

HOPE poems ......________________________________________
To Catch an Error
( a poem in jest )
Although I double-check my own work,I often see what isn't there but should be;
My own mistakes remain invisible.
You see, my errors all wear camouflage
such tiny, inconsequential, camo-cloaked errors)
You must have worn powerful goggles
to spot them so readily.
I do try to catch the critters
but their evasive maneuvers are beyond me.
My errors are unlike yours.
Your errors dress in hunter orange
with luminescent sequins.
They wear leaden boots
on their watermelon-sized feet.
How can you miss them??
Obviously, you have. I'd like to help you--
here, I have them tagged and labeled,
neatly and in order of increasing irritation.
But what? You have a box for me as well?
--a rather stout and sturdy box,
sealed with heavy duty duct tape?
Ah, Thanks.
Thanks so very much.
