Death and Burial
"in the heart of the earth 3 days
and 3 nights
Commemoration on Thursday April 9 until
the dawn / Resurrection of April 12, 2009

"Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and
die, it abideth alone:
but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. John 12:24
Mary of Bethany was the only one who realized
Mary of Bethany (Lazarus' sister) was the only one who
realized the Suffering Servant aspect of the Messianic prophecies
before Our Lord died. She was the only one who understood that
Jesus came to die as our Passover Lamb for the atonement of our
sins. Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit, connected the
dots....she had put 2 and 2 together.
She most likely came to this divine revelation by reading the
"Servant Songs of Isaiah"
especially Isaiah
53......
"He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep
before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His
mouth.".....
"He was cut off from the land of the living: for the
transgression of my people was He stricken."
"And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in
his death."
Knowing all this, Mary spared no expense, and lavishly poured
burial oil upon our Lord, knowing the time was at hand.
While everyone else was looking for Jesus to be their political
Messiah and deliverer from the yoke of Rome (especially Judas),
it was Mary of Bethany alone who understood that Jesus is our
Messiah and deliverer from the bondage of sin, by dying for our
atonement. She understood that the Suffering Servant prophecies
must need be fulfilled before there could be kingdom prophecies
fulfilled.
No one else could see or understand that.
Mary had reached the pinnacle of theological
understanding...without rabbis or yeshivas or doctorates. She
simply sat at the feet of Jesus and absorbed every word and
nuance and phrase of her Lord. And then in her quiet moments
alone, she listened to the voice of the Holy Spirit (the"
kol Ruach Ha Kodesh") and came to an understanding we all
need to understand.
The realization that we must all come to understand is that we
must first partake of
the fellowship of
His suffering
(Philippians 3:10) before we can know the power of His resurrection.
First things first.
Mary understood, because Mary loved. Mary of Bethany loved Our
Lord very deeply, and our Lord loved her in return by giving to
her the unique privilege of this insight into the most profound
concept within all of religion: Jesus had come to die. He came to
die for you and me and for our sins. It was the only way.
May our prayers of utter gratitude be as the balm of ointment
Mary of Bethany poured over our Lord.
May we all connect the dots in our lifetime.
Matthew 26:6-13
......... Mark 14:3-9 ......... John 12:1-8.
"Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very
costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with
her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the
ointment....
"Let her alone: against the day of My burying hath she kept
this."

JOSEPH and NICODEMUS
"When the even was come,
there came a rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, who also
himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged
("craved", Mark 14) the body of Jesus. Then Pilate
commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the
body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his
own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a
great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. And there
was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the
sepulchre."
Mattthew 27:57
"And there came also Nicodemas..and brought a mixture of
myrrh and aloes, about 100
pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in
linen clothes with the spices, as is the manner of the Jews is to

JESUS SPRINKLED HIS BLOOD UPON THE HEAVENLY MERCY SEAT
After Christ descended, He resurrected on Sunday to the Garden
Tomb area and spoke with the women at the grave site. He told
them He was going to ascend to His Father....which He did that
morning. After receiving the embrace of the Father, Jesus
sprinkled His blood (miraculously) upon the Mercy Seat in Heaven.
"But Christ being come an high priest of good things to
come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with
hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood
of goats and calves, BUT BY HIS OWN BLOOD He entered in ONCE into
the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."
Hebrews 9: 11, 12
"For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an
heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of
the flesh: How much more shall the Blood of Christ, who through
the eternal Spirit, offered Himself without spot to God, purge
your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Hebrews 9:13,14
"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with
corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain
conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
BUT WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." 1 Peter 1:18,19

At the time of the Intimate - Ascension (Resurrection Morning)
Keeping in mind the
fact that Jesus told Mary Magdalene not to touch Him for He had
not yet ascended to the Father---then realizing that right then
after that encounter, Christ ascended to the Father and received
the Father's embrace and 'Amen' to the finished work of Christ.
Then we go on to notice that that same evening Christ commands
the disciples to touch Him and see that it is truly Him.
"Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me
and see". Luke 24:39
The obvious deduction is that Christ has already been with the
Father in Glory and has transported back to earth and it is now
permissible to touch Him, and is in fact encouraged.
From these two affirmations--- direct revelation and by
deduction--- we can then conclude with certainty that yes Jesus
Christ BOTH rose and ascended on Easter morning. This ascension
being an "Intimate
Ascension".

You must believe in the Resurrection
(refuting blasphemy)
"We are living in a day and age when many apostate, liberal, modernistic ministers scoff at the Resurrection. Dr. Duncan E. Littlefair has a book entitled The Changing Religious Thought. I quote from pages 104 and 105. Listen to this blasphemy: "The resurrection is not peculiar to Christianity. Don't you go building religion on this basis. Don't build it on the idea that somehow or another something different happened in Christianity because Jesus was raised from the dead. It is not so. It just isn't so. I say to you that this physical resurrection must stop being a dominant thing in our minds. We have to understand it differently. We must see it with our spiritual eyes. The virgin birth is a mythological tale."
This is a minister speaking! Well, I choose to believe
God (see Acts 27:25) !
Matthew 1:23 says, Behold, a
virgin shall be with child.
Let's listen to God rather than men.
Dr. Littlefair continues, "The virgin birth is a story designed to say
something. It wasn't meant to be understood physically. It was a
picturesque way of telling something wonderful that couldn't be
told any other way.
The resurrection story is the same."
It should not be taken physically? Wait a minute! Let's see what God has to say. In Luke 24:39, Jesus appeared to His disciples after the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, and He was in a body. He said, Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself [you do not believe it?]: handle me, and see [come on and touch me!]; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Dr. Littlefair says this should not be taken literally, as far as the physical is concerned! He further states, "Don't take it with your crude literal hands and destroy it. A rolled away stone and some clothes left there -- how trivial and insignificant." Really? The literal, physical Resurrection is insignificant? Oh, Dr. Littlefair, how about Romans 10:9,10 which says that if you do not believe in this literal Resurrection you cannot be saved? That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Dr. Littlefair goes on to say, "Two men sitting there announced that the body was no longer there. One of the disciples putting his finger into the wound in the side, Jesus eating a fish to show that He was physical, passing through a wall to give a miracle, and, finally, rising up with His body. If you stop to think about it you realize the absurdity of it."
Sir, the only absurdity I see is in the article you have written in your book which does away with the precious story of what the Holy Bible, God's Word, has to say about the Resurrection.
In one paragraph, this accomplished apostate denies the virgin birth, the Resurrection, the ascension, the existence of heaven, and the integrity of the Holy Scriptures. Philippians 3:10 says, That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection. Let me tell you, when you really know Jesus -- not about Jesus, but know Him with your heart -- you also know the power of the Resurrection. You know it is not just myth. You know that it is real.
In 2 Peter 1:16, the apostle says, For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. In other words, Peter says, "This is not something that we hatched up in a dream -- it is something that we saw with our own eyes."
The pages of the Holy Bible are literally saturated with Resurrection truth. Job 19:25: For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.
In Mark 16:6 the angel says, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen.
In John 11:25 Jesus Christ says, I am the resurrection, and the life.
Peter, preaching in Acts 5:30, says, The God of our fathers raised up Jesus.
Romans 4:25: Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 8:34: Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God.
First Corinthians 15:3,4: Christ died for our sins..And...he was buried, and...he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
First Thessalonians 1:10: And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead.
Second Timothy 2:8: Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead.
Hebrews 13:20,21: Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep...Make you perfect.
Revelation 1:18: I am he that
liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore.
There is one thing this Book teaches and that is the story of the
Resurrection.
Where does our
spirit and soul go after death ? What about "Soul
Sleep" ?
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord...2
Corinthians 5:8
TODAY,
thou wilt be with Me in Paradise.......Luke
23:43
Some denominations believe that when a person dies, his soul and
spirit "sleep" in a state of unconsciousness until the
final resurrection. This is Biblical error. The soul does not
"sleep" unconsciously for years until the day of
resurrection. The soul and spirit are always alive and conscious.
Consequences are immediate upon death.
"It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement".
Hebrews 9:27
The immediacy of our spiritual placement at death heightens one's
sense of accountability. If immediately after I die, I am
consigned to either heaven or hell, I practice a more sober and
realistic attitude toward my lifestyle, behavior and its effects.
TODAY is all we can deal with. "Tomorrow" (soul-sleep)
is always a day away. Something to put on the back-burner. People
who can assume responsibility and accountability can more readily
deal with reality and truth. The truth of our after life is found
in many verses of the Bible. Let's examine them:
