The year 2004 was also an important year for VeriChip,
the human implantable chip that Digital Angel
manufactures for its sister company, Applied Digital
Inc. VeriChip, an RFID microchip for humans, was approved by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration for medical applications in
October 2004 and made headlines around the world.

The internal subdermal VeriChip cannot be tracked with
GPS, Galileo or Beidou
It is an internal PASSIVE rfid chip.
In order to be tracked by Global Positioning Systems, the rfid
chip must be ACTIVE.
ACTIVE rfid chips are too large for implantation, and are worn externally.
Microchip Implants
-- Jon E. Dougherty ( WND ) --1999
"Researchers say the technology is currently available to implant
biometric devices in human beings, which can be monitored
by government satellites and utilized by private
industry. In fact some developers are currently attempting to
bring the technology to the public and private sector.
Though not yet generally available to the public, trials of sub-skin
implants have been underway for nearly a year. For
instance, The London Times reported in October 1998,
"... Film stars and the children of millionaires are among
45 people, including several Britons, who have been approached
and fitted with the chips (called the Sky Eye)
in secret tests.
A recent study
of microchip implantation technology, written by Elaine
M. Ramish for the
Franklin Pierce Law Center,
examined at length the ethical issue of privacy, which engulfs
every debate surrounding implanted biometric devices. The study
provided details about current research and development as well
as marketing plans developers are likely to use to "sell"
the idea to a generally skeptical American public
and U.S. Congress
A national identification system via microchip implants
could be achieved in two stages," she said.
"Upon introduction as a voluntary system, the
microchip implantation will appear to be palatable.
After there is a familiarity with the procedure and a knowledge
of its benefits,
implantation would be mandatory."
Ramish noted that a few U.S. firms were already developing, or
had developed, implantable biometric devices capable of
1. "read only,
2. read-write and
3. read-write with tracking" abilities.
IBM, Hughes Aircraft, and Dallas Semiconductor are among several
firms
.......someday Congress may be faced with the decision to mandate
the implementation of such technology
But the concept of government-mandated microchip
implants is reprehensible,"
he [ George Getz ] added.

Possible

Tracking
Airline passengers with Passive rfid -- Oct. 7, 2005
The StreamThru system
uses passive UHF EPC RFID tags attached to boarding passes to
help manage the flow of airline passengers through the airport.
It also uses cellular and bar code technology.
With StreamThru,
passengers register their mobile phone numbers when
purchasing their tickets and are given boarding
passes with RFID tags attached. The goal is to create two-way
communication between passengers and airline or
airport operators, so as to improve the flow of passengers
through the airport.
Mantic Point says it will market the StreamThru
passenger-management system, which was built on Mantic's
own Chaperone flow management application. The latter
was developed with health-care
and supply chain applications in mind
To detect passengers, RFID readers (interrogators
...Ed : sensors
) will be placed at key choke points,
such as passport control and departure gates. The StreamThru
system can then determine if a given passenger is likely to be
late for his or her flight.
The StreamThru application, Mantic maintains, can not only track
passengers through the airport, but also keep passengers informed
by sending relevant personalized flight information to
their wireless phones automatically

" We're pleased to showcase Sovereign
Tracking Systems, LLC, ... to track and
manage inventory for all kinds of items, including such
high-value items such as medical equipment, shipping containers, and even patients
Sovereign is a privately held, NJ-based
[ Ed: New Jersey ] cutting-edge technology company specializing
in real-time asset management tracking technologies, supported by
inexpensive active radio
frequency identification tags (RFID). The interest of mPhase and its
subsidiary, AlwaysReady Inc.,
is that all active tags and many other types of sensor
devices require a power supply for use.
mPhase's Smart Nanobattery
can allow for the tag to remain in a quiescent state until
needed, providing power on demand.
mPhase's new Smart Nanobattery architecture promises an energy
source that can be packaged in various configurations, with shelf
life lasting decades, yet still able to be activated almost
instantaneously on demand. This has a distinct relevance with
active RFID applications. Various battery designs based on this
technology may deliver a new and unique component for system
design across many fields, including defense, healthcare,
industrial and consumer electronics.
Sovereign's CEO William A. Robinson was one of the
founding fathers of the "Global Positioning Systems"
(GPS) technology
Inspired by the limitation of the GPS technology (it would not
track under cover), Mr. Robinson began to formulate a concept for
a reverse GPS, in which small "Satellites"
(readers) could be placed in an indoor environment [ Ed: also

Additionally, the company is working on prototype
ultra-sensitive magnetometers that promise
orders of magnitude increases in sensitivity as compared with
available un-cooled sensors. More information is available at the

ACTIVE chips monitired by GPS -- July 6, 2007 --
Nancy Whelan
Ed: individual's location tracked 24 / 7
"There may be other implications of microchipping humans. I
wonder what impact a microchip would have had on Jesse Davis, the
young Ohio mother who recently went missing and was later found
murdered. Had she been implanted with a
microchip with GPS capability, her
whereabouts would have been known immediately to authorities.
"
Microchips are not without controversy too. The book of
Revelation (13: 15-18) in the Bible prophesizes that the
"Number of the Beast" will be placed in a person's
forehead or right hand without which a person cannot buy or sell.
And, some Christians believe implanted microchips are a
fulfillment of this prophecy.

Spyware and less vigilance -- Jan. 15, 2008 ( Ed: how true, how
true )
"Ironically, relying on RFID technology
could end up making a rare occurrence more likely," Albrecht
said. "Once hospital staffers rely on computer
systems to track the human inventory in their care, they become less vigilant."
We actually investigated an abduction that involved a baby who
was wearing an RFID ankle bracelet at the time of the
abduction," Albrecht said. "What happened was a woman
dressed up in hospital scrubs. Even though the other staffers in
the maternity ward did not recognize this woman, nobody reported
her, because they thought the RFID system would take care of any
problem."
The woman figured out how to turn the RFID system off,
Albrecht said, 'and she just walked right out of the hospital
carrying the baby, without anybody stopping her."

Hi- Tech
bracelet "Hugs and Kisses" -- June 9, 2007
The bracelets play a lullaby every time the baby is placed
near mom. Also, the microchips -- embedded in a small music box
on the plastic band -- are wired to a sophisticated system
that locks down the maternity unit's elevators and stairwells
if the baby is taken too close to the exits without mom.
The hospital's alarm will sound even if dad, who doesn't get a
bracelet, tries to take the baby off the unit, if only for a
walk, said Kate Austin, director of Women and Children Services
at the Pontiac hospital.
The system, manufactured by the Delray Beach, Fla.-based
VeriChip Corp., is controlled through computers at the nurses
station. It is new this year at St. Joseph Mercy
The alarm will also sound if the
bracelet loosens, or is cut off, she said. So
far, there haven't been any lockdowns

"Wherify" for children
In addition, Digital Angel Corp., a subsidiary of
Applied Digital Solutions, is developing a GPS-enabled suite of
products called Digital Angel (http://www.digitalangel.net).
Not only will Digital Angel devices be able to pinpoint an exact location, but they will also measure biological
and medical parameters, such as body temperature and blood oxygen
levels, using biosensor technology.
Digital Angel also plans to use other sensors,
such as an EKG (electrocardiograph,
an instrument for measuring heart abnormalities) and an EEG
(electroencephalograph,
a device that records electrical activity in the brain).
The first generation of these devices will come in the form of a
wristwatch.
In the future, we can expect to see a merger of the two devices [
Ed: VeriChip and Digital Angel] . In South America, the VeriChip is already being bundled with Digital Angel so
that in abduction cases, police and others can monitor a
kidnapped victim's condition and track his location. In order for
this capability to enter the United States, however, the FDA
(Food and Drug Administration) must approve the VeriChip for use.
Currently, the product is still under evaluation.

Portable Asset-Tracking
-- Jan. 8, 2007
Rather than relying on a network of fixed
receivers, the asset location system utilizes portable
receivers to collect RFID messages, which the system
uses to identify the unique ID of the asset as well as its room
location.
By not requiring the installation of numerous
fixed receivers throughout a facility, such a system could
substantially lower the initial cost of implementing RFID
technology."
VeriChip sells passive RFID
systems for identification purposes and active
RFID systems for local-area location and identification
purposes.

"Operation Lost and Found" Locator Bracelets ; Finder
Chips -- Jan. 13, 2006
Finder chips can be put under
the skin, NBC4's Dr. Bruce Hensel
reported. But for people who object to the idea of an implant,
another approach is to put a bracelet on them.
But now, Hayes worries a bit less because of the bracelet
around his wife's ankle.
"It's a radio transmitter that puts out a radio
signal," Bob Hayes said. Hayes got the bracelet
from authorities in South Dakota, where the couple lives. His
wife's transmitter has a unique frequency,
so, if she goes missing, he alerts authorities
immediately, and police can use a receiving device to locate
her.
The couple is now in California visiting family. Hayes worried
when he found out Fresno County doesn't offer the program. But he
soon learned Madera County does. It's called "Operation
Lost and Found." The sheriff's department started
the program two years ago. Sheriff John Anderson said around 30
Madera County residents suffering from mental challenges like
Alzheimer's or dementia currently have the bracelets

Assetrac
June 15, 2007 -- XMark ... total telemetry
VeriChip will present its Assetrac
system, featuring the smallest asset tag on the market,
which is available in response to growing demand from the
healthcare industry for an effective and affordable solution for
tracking and protecting high-value mobile
medical assets. Poor asset utilization results not only in lost
equipment and lost productivity, but also has a negative impact
on patient care through prolonged wait times due to lack of
equipment.
In addition to the smallest tag on the market, the system also
offers the most flexible deployment options. It can cover a
single area, like the
Emergency Department, or an entire campus.
It also capitalizes on the existing IT infrastructure to reduce
installation costs, and can even be interfaced with Wi-Fi
and asset management technologies.
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Xmark is a wholly owned
subsidiary of VeriChip Corporation. For over 25 years, Xmark
Corporation has provided Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
solutions to identify, locate, and protect people and assets in
healthcare environments. Its market-leading infant protection,
wander prevention, personal duress, and asset tracking
applications are trusted by over 5,000 healthcare institutions

built-in batteries and do not require energy
induced from the reader to power the microchip. This
allows them to function with much lower signal power levels and
over greater distances than passive tags. They are, however,
considerably more expensive. "

Combination ID and tracking device ( INTERNAL both
subdermal ).
The System wants desperately to combine both features of passive
and active rfid subdermally. God has
restrained them from internal GPS tracking as of 2006. Praise
God.
Spot-tracking with ORB and eXI wireless ( now called Xmark ) ...
However, the System wants to work around GPS and locate by
communicating location points wherever the contactless rfid chip
has passed a sensor, placed in the wilderness, etc. This is not
the same as visual tracking, however by communicating points of
movement sporadically, the System can have an idea of where you
are.
2 chips : an internal passive rfid ( VeriChip ) and an external
active rfid ( Digital Angel )
Data on chip (
internal ) ; GPS locator applied externally -- 2002 Verichip +
Digital Angel
The chip, which is slightly larger than a grain
of rice and transmits
two to three sentences of data, can be read
by a scanner up to four feet away.
It is injected into the subject's forearm or shoulder under local
anesthesia during an outpatient procedure and leaves no mark,
Bolton said.
The second product, Digital Angel, which
combines a global satellite positioning system and monitoring
service, was designed with people who stray in mind, such as
parolees or Alzheimer's patients. The system combines a watch and a device the size of a pack of cigarettes
that clips onto a waist band or a belt like a pager.

TWO
- WAY Communication System .... rapid response:
The sensors etc. detect the VeriChip ( or any external
contactless rfid chip) and then they transmit the ID number
through the eXI wireless telecommunication system to the ORBCOMM
low earth orbit ( LEO ) satellite system.
The ORBCOMM satellite then sends the ID number to a central
database, which opens up the stored data and then in turn
transmits that data ( any and all stored information on that
individual ) to any mobile unit ( PDA, laptop, cell phone,
handhelds etc. ) and thus they can track and monitor your
location in real-time mobility.
Should that individual be targeted by the Powers that be, he can
be stopped in his tracks, as it were,
since Dynagate ( portable access control ) can keep him from
entering a zone,
( with or without a physical gate ).

Satellites tracking those who are chipped ? April 2005
They worry that satellites could track
anyone with a chip easily and wonder with concern what other uses
the chips could be put to.
Turkey is still far from this level of
regimentation, but around the world there are now almost two
billion chipped cards sold this year. Seventy percent of those
chips will be used for security. In Europe, the chips are being
placed in passports, and the US has gone to extremes by placing
them under the skin. In this way, everybody could be watched by
satellite through these chips.
The chip can keep medical records, (blood
pressure, allergy, operations that the patient had gone through)
which are loaded later through the codes it contains in its
memory. The data within chips can be easily obtained through
scanners in the health center.
Chip usage is not confined to the US. A
new resolution has been reached whereby the United Nations
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is now bringing
a new international standard for 27 countries in the European
Union (EU) to switch to chipped passports by early 2006. The US
will apply visa procedures for all those who do not hold a
chipped passport.

attempts internal GPS tracking device --2003
PALM BEACH, FL May 13, 2003 Applied Digital
Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSX), an advanced technology
development company, today announced that it has developed and
successfully field tested a working prototype
of what the company believes is the first-ever subdermal
GPS personal location device (PLD). Field testing and
follow-up laboratory testing of the disk-shaped prototype confirm
that the specially designed antenna and the induction-based
power-recharging method function properly.
The
dimensions of this initial PLD prototype are 2.5 inches in
diameter by 0.5 inches in depth, roughly the size of a pacemaker.
As the process of miniaturization proceeds in the coming months,
the Company expects to be able to shrink the size of the device
to at least one-half and perhaps to as little as one-tenth
the current size. [ Ed: the size of an injectable chip ]

Keith
Bolton and Digital Angel --- 2001
The result of the two moves, and the research that
followed, produced what Digital Angel claims is a first-ever
combination of "advanced sensor technology"
that can communicate biological and location data in real time
using satellite GPS technology and Internet-integrated ground
stations.
The Internet link means caregivers can view the data on any
Web-enabled desktop, laptop or wireless device. The
password-protected Digital Angel site provides the vital-sign
data; location information is cross-referenced, and viewable, via
the Digital Angel mapping engine
Nothing is needed to "attach" the devices to the
skin; the sensors
react to the infrared radiation naturally
emitted from the body.
For now, Digital Angel devices can read and return data on body
temperature and pulse rate. Next-generation models will
provide EEG and EKG, as well as glucose monitoring
"all vital data needed to monitor the condition of at-risk
patients," the company notes
http://www.10meters.com/digitalangel.html
Prototype
The disc-shaped "personal location device"
measures 6.35 centimetres in diameter and 1.27 centimetres in
depth - roughly the same size as a pace-maker.
Currently it consists of an antenna to receive signals from the
satellite constellation that comprises the Global Positioning
System and an induction-based power-recharging system.
The latter should make it possible to recharge the device's
batteries from outside the user's body.
Eventually the device will need to connect to a cell phone
network if it is to relay the satellite-determined position of
its host to another person.
Applied Digital Solutions (ADS) hopes the device will appeal to
people

No GPS in VeriChip -- March 30, 2005
Obviously, there is
no such thing as a GPS transceiver that can be implanted with a
hypodermic needle as a tiny microchip. Such
a gizmo would be as big as a pacemaker, and would have to be
implanted surgically.

Angel of Death...from WND mail bag...Jan 29-2002
I wonder how much thought the
proponents of this wondrous new technology have given to what
would happen if this stuff were compromised. In other words, what
if hostile forces, terrorists, kidnappers, governments got hold
of the ability to ID and trace and track the chips?
In this age when organized crime can obtain valid, bonafide verifiable
badges and ID cards, it is not impossible. Not to think what a
fully financed hostile government's intelligence net could do.
Instead of being able to rescue a kidnapped
multi-millionaire's son, or an important politician, this
technology could lead kidnappers to their target,
guaranteeing success.
Imagine every soldier being chipped and an enemy force being able to turn those chips on the soldiers carrying them and be able to plot the whereabouts and troop concentrations of our forces! A smart enemy would ensure they had a long running series of stunning minor victories instead of a major win. Destroy our forces by attrition. How much fun would it be if you were the president of a major corporation (who was chipped) with serious political opposition in countries where your facilities were located overseas, and they decided to begin hunting you?
This has already happened with
animals. A number of years ago the U.S. Forest Service, put
tracking collars on bears to monitor their activities, migration,
numbers, etc. Illegal bear hunters obtained tracking equipment
and frequencies of the trackers. The bear poachers enjoyed such
success the Forest Service had to recapture the remaining bears
and remove the collars.

Bolton said that todays Digital Angel products use the
smallest GPS receiver on the market, measuring about
1 inch by 1 inch in diameter. The GPS component of
the product delivers information about the location of its
wearers to the Digital Angel system.
A sensor in the current products can sound alarms when wearers cross geographic boundaries, such as a five-mile radius perimeter. The criminal justice industry has shown interest in the technology for prisoners under house arrest or on parole, Bolton said. Its also perfect for sufferers of Alzheimer's disease, who often wander from homes and hospitals and get lost, and for parents to attach to children.
Another sensor passes along body-temperature
information. In development are sensors
that will send vital sign information like pulse, blood oxygen
and glucose levels, Bolton said.

The fourth
devices concerns SENSORS
which are far much smaller than a chip. Sensors are all around
us, and are strategically placed within the environment. Digital Angel is trying to make SENSORS for our
bodies.
