Today the conflicts continue, especially in regards to the security of Jerusalem and the Temple Area, where Jew, Christian and Moslem worship. Neither the Israeli or PA (Palestinian Authority) trust each other’s patrolling forces, and each claim Jerusalem as their own. PROBABLE SCENARIO

When there is a Syrian-Israeli war, and Damascus is defeated, then Israel would " be at rest ". Yet even so, foreign forces would enter into Israel to monitor Mideast concerns, since the global community abhors any nation acting unilaterally.

So then, when foreign troops are pledged to arrive in Israel within a short period of time, this could become the bait-- a "hook in the jaws" that draws in the Russian-Muslim Confederate Invasion
( War of Ezekiel 38 and 39) ....since Russia and her allies will have only a short time to attack Israel before foreign troops arrive in Israel. "window of opportunity"

If it is probable that at the time Russia makes her advance toward Israel, then she and her confederate forces will be defeated. Please see W W 3, The Russian Bear.

When all of the dust settles from that enormous invasion, then finally the foreign forces that were pledged to arrive in Jerusalem, will arrive.

These units would be designed to gain control of a trouble spot within four days and bring a conflict to a decisive resolution within 30 days.

Daniel Chapter 12 speaks of 1, 290 days. The Great Tribulation lasts 1, 278 days
( based upon 365.25 days times 3.5 years = 1, 278 days..

If you subtract 1278 from 1290 that leaves 12 days as a prior time before the exact start of the Great Tribulation.

MONITORING FORCES ..."OBSERVERS"

Whoever patrols these Sacred Areas would have to be objective and fair, and would have to resist the temptation to seize, dominate and control the Temple Area.

Israel had been warned not to make treaties with other nations (Exodus Chapter 23:32).
Matthew 24:4 warns, "Let no man deceive you."
Israel had also been warned not to be beholden to any nation financially (Deuteronomy 15:6 and Deut. 28:12-20.)
These two warnings, against military and financial indebtedness, were to protect Israel from a well-plotted Set-Up and Take Over.
The warning in Daniel continues: "He shall work deceitfully (Dan. 11:23)...and he shall place the Abomination that maketh Desolate in the Sanctuary"
(Dan. 11:31).

Well, the only thing that makes desolate is an Army, ( Luke 21:20) or Force of some kind. When that Foreign Force is "standing in the Holy Place"....
"then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house." Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes."

It is interesting to note that the main artery out of Jerusalem, Rehov-Bar-Ilan, became officially closed on the Sabbath Days as of May 24, 1997. Any car traveling on the roads out of Jerusalem on Sabbath Days are met with stonings, causing massive injury and destruction, and possibly death. Opposing mobs line the thoroughfares.

And of course Security Forces will be patrolling any escape routes, once the Foreign Army Occupies Jerusalem.The only route of escape that Jesus mentions is that which leads to the "mountains".

We read in Amos 6:14,"The LORD God Almighty Himself says,
‘People of Israel, I am going to send a Foreign Army to occupy your
country. It will oppress you from Hamath Pass in the North, to the
brook of Arabah in the South."

Yes, this time "of Jacob’s Trouble" will be unprecedented in all of history, surpassing even the horrors of the Holocaust (1933-1945). The Book of Daniel tells us "and the people shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil many days"
(Daniel 11:33).
"And with the arms of a flood shall they be overthrown from before him, and shall be broken; yeah, also the prince of the covenant." (Daniel 11:22)

This flood spoken of here refers to the massive inundation of tyranny and weaponry against the people of Israel and also echoes Rev. 12:15, wherein Satan--the Force behind the force--tries to drown the people of God. He is unsuccessful though, for God will hide his Holy Remnant of Jewish people (Rev. 12:14 & 16) and the
Remnant ( 1/ 3...........Zechariah 13:8.9 ) will escape the horrors of the Great Tribulation --the last 3 1/2 years of this Age.."

Daniel 12 :1 says that "at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in The Book". This Book refers to the " Book of Life " (see "Teshuvah" ). This Book designates who will live through the Great Tribulation and who will not... those who fulfill a plan and purpose of God at this time. Jeremiah 30:7 tells us that "Jacob" himself (the Israeli Remnant) "will be saved out of it" (Jacob’s Trouble.)
"For out of JERUSALEM shall go forth a Remnant" Isaiah 37:32
But others will not escape; and as this man takes on Jerusalem, and Israel and the world, all peoples will come under his totalitarian rule. Rev. 13:7,8

THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION
FOREIGN FORCES

Let’s see what else Daniel 11:31 says about this man, anti-Messiah, and his War-Machine:
"And Arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the Sanctuary of strength, and shall take away (Dan. 9:27) the daily sacrifice (could mean daily prayers at the Wall ...Heb.13:15 and Hosea 14:2)
Or more relevantly... stop the "daily sacrifice"... could mean to intervene in the daily deaths from the Temple Mount intifada ...."these be the days of vengeance" Luke 21:22
"and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate"
The FORCE could be the Abomination that maketh Desolate, or some kind of evil devise.
[Daniel 11:31 and Dan. 9:27 and also Matthew 24:15.]

We see then that when this Force arrives, they will bar all entrance to the Wailing Wall, (where the sacrifice of prayer is made daily) and they will come between the PLO and the Israelis, thereby putting an end to the daily sacrifice of lives lost, due to the intifada.
Dan. 9:27 tells us that they shall also cause the oblation (gift) to cease. This most likely means that Financial Aid will be cut to Israel from this "protecting party".

NO REGARD

Daniel goes on to say,
"And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods". (Dan. 11:36)
"Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers (the Judeo-Christian God and ethic), nor the desire of women

(He will not acknowledge the marriage-relationship with any of the benefits thereof in society and legislation. Homosexual partnership will be equal to heterosexual marriage, in civil legislation only. Homosexuality is still an abomination in the sight of God.
Every one will be of ‘unisex’; and economic accountability is per-one in this brave new world.) Women will be treated as men, with the same accountability.
"nor regard any god" (totally atheistic and amoral; irrespective of anyone, past or present.
"For he shall magnify himself above all." This speaks for itself.

Daniel 7 verses 8 + 20 correspond with Rev. 13: 4 which says,
"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:

It is interesting to note that Michael the archangel is commissioned in behalf of Israel [Rev.12:7]. "Michael" means "Who is like God??!" He received that title when contesting Satan earlier, when Satan said he would be like God.
Isaiah 14:14 also Ezekiel 28:9 and 15].
In this passage of Rev. 13:4 Satan's followers imitate such arrogance when saying, "Who is like the beast?" Anyone with any intelligence knows that NO POWER can stand against Almighty God.
Psalm 20:7 says,
"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the Name of the LORD our God."

Yet Isaiah 28:21 reminds us that the Great Tribulation will be a time when God will do His "strange work"...He is going to allow man to have his day.
At the end of the Great Tribulation, Almighty God will manifest Himself in all His power and might.
Israel's secret weapon: Exodus 14:14; Deuteronomy 3:22; Nehemiah 4:20....
The LORD GOD fights for Israel.

"And there was given unto him (the beast) a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months." Rev. 13:5

THE DAYS OF VENGEANCE

So we see then that all the peace treaties that Israel's partners have ever signed will mean nothing.
The man whom they trusted as an ally will deceive them, and with the Trojan Horse
of flatteries, he will bring his destroying Armies upon them.

This is how Luke 21:20-24 describes this time:
"And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with Armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh."......

ARIEL-THE FURNACE OF GOD

Yes, Jerusalem shall be judged for her treaties and misplaced loyalties. This judgement is God’s "strange work" (Isaiah 28:21)...a work He would rather not do because of His love for Jerusalem (Matt. 23:37-39) and her people.
When judgement befalls Jerusalem, the City becomes so desolate and changed, that it is no longer Jerusalem as it were, but "Ariel". ....

This crucible will cause many to make a last minute conversion, whereby God Himself will protect them from the flames, even though some cross-over into Eternity................

This is an all-or-nothing TRUST. But what a payoff:

"When thou walkest through the Fire, THOU SHALT NOT BE BURNED,
"Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee

Jesus proved His power over fire in Daniel Chapter Three. And it is believed by many
that God was with His own in the ovens of the Holocaust, taking them into Glory, before any flame could kindle upon them.
NO death can harm us when we trust God as our shield Genesis 15:1 .

REVELATION 11

Earlier, we were told in Daniel that the prince of the covenant and his Army would "pollute the sanctuary". The only "sanctuary" of Jerusalem is the area at the Temple Wall, the holy place of prayer. Right adjacent to that area is an outer courtyard, commonly referred to as the "Western Wall Plaza".

Because of Israel's Year of Jubilee, major modifications were constructed at the Wailing Wall Plaza. Hundreds of cameras and monitoring devices were put into place. These changes allow for about  40,000 people to attend gatherings at the Wall .

Yet this outer courtyard is projected to accommodate millions in attendance, by way of Web-cast news . Because of such an immeasurable audience, the "court without" cannot be measured: (Rev.11:2)
"But the court which is without the Temple leave out, and measure it not;
for it is given unto the Gentiles:
And the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months ( 3 1/2 yrs.)."

No one knows when this Gentile Occupation will occur, but signs are pointing that it will be soon. The covenant must be confirmed among many
[EU and Superpowers]. When the final ‘t’ is crossed, all will hail.......

But we are warned in Scripture not to believe it. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 The Foreign Force and the prince of the covenant are coming...and the land will be divided up for gain.
(Dan. 11: 39). But God has a Remnant (Isaiah 37:32 and Zech. 13:8 ).
They will not be under the anti-Christ Forces.
They will be nourished by God’s providence (Rev. 12:14), and protected beyond the reach of the beast and the dragon.
It will be their unique privilege to welcome back
their King, Yeshua H’Mashiach (Zechariah 13:9). See also 2 Samuel 19:12
