In the poll, released by new think tank the European Council on Foreign Relations,
more than one third of the respondents (35 percent) said they see
an increased EU power as a central element
needed to develop a better world. 
The poll was conducted among 57,000 respondents in 52
countries around the globe
think-tank's executive director Mark Leonard
and board member Ivan Krastev commented.
This year's Voice of the People annual
survey has been carried out by Gallup International in
collaboration with the
European Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr Juncker acknowledged that although the eurogroup
is not formalised it is often seen as more preferable a setting
for ministers to divulge confidences than its bigger cousin, the
ECOFIN - or gathering of all 25 finance ministers
America and the EURO
Mr Juncker also repeated his calls for
better external representation of the euro, particularly in
Washington, regretting that as the euro has got stronger the
debate about single external representation has become less
ambitious

The
Eurogroup, composed of the Member States whose currency is the
euro, meets normally the day before the Ecofin meeting and deals
with issues relating to the Economic and Monetary
Union (EMU). It is an informal body which is not a
configuration of the Council.
