REAL
ID -- Jan. 18, 2008
The federal law mandates
that every US citizen and legal resident have a national ID card
that in most cases is a driver's license meeting federal
standards. It requires it to contain an individual's personal
information and makes one mandatory to open a bank account, board an airplane, be able to vote, get
a job, enter a federal building, or conduct virtually all essential
business requiring identification.

Most
to get real ID -- Jan. 12,
2008
WASHINGTON Americans born after
Dec. 1, 1964, will have to get more secure driver's licenses in
the next six years ( Ed: starting NOW ) under ambitious
post-9/11 security rules to be unveiled Friday by federal
officials....
To address some of those concerns, the government now plans to
phase in a secure ID initiative that Congress passed into law in
2005. Now, DHS plans a key deadline in 2011 -- when federal
authorities hope all states will be in compliance -- and then
further measures to be enacted three years later....

"REAL ID " = National ID card ( driver's

'renewing a drivers license will require
a personal visit to the DMV. Mail-in and online renewal, which
had just begun to shorten seemingly unending DMV lines,
will no longer be allowed under the Real ID
Act. In addition, license renewal will require applicants to
provide the DMV with:
1. their current license or other picture ID,
2. their actual social security card (not a copy),
3. utility bills showing address of residence and last but
certainly not least,
4. their birth certificate."

How "Real ID
" will affect you
Drivers License = National Identity card = access to viable
lifestyle
, if you live or work in the United States, you'll need a
federally approved ID card to:
travel on an airplane,
open a bank account,
collect Social Security payments,
or take advantage of nearly any government
service.
Practically speaking, your driver's license likely will
have to be reissued to meet federal standards
At a minimum: name, birth date, sex, ID number, a
digital photograph, address, and a
"common machine-readable technology" [
microprocessor
chip, multifunctional; bankcard ]
that Homeland Security will decide on. The card must also sport
"physical security features designed to prevent tampering,
counterfeiting, or duplication of the document for fraudulent
purposes.
Homeland Security is permitted to add additional
requirements--such as a fingerprint or retinal scan--on top of
those. We won't know for a while what these additional
requirements will be."
Ed:
Biological verification (
authenication) will be needed when the 666 Mark of the Beast
is implanted in the forehead ( iris of eye for verification )
or implanted in the right hand ( fingerprint for verification; or
vein print)

INDOOR TRACKING

19, 2007 -- ACTIVE Tags ( for people )
" We're pleased to showcase Sovereign
Tracking Systems, LLC, ... to track and
manage inventory for all kinds of items, including such
high-value items such as medical equipment, shipping containers, and even patients
Sovereign is a privately held, NJ-based
[ Ed: New Jersey ] cutting-edge technology company specializing
in real-time asset management tracking technologies, supported by
inexpensive active radio
frequency identification tags (RFID). The interest of mPhase and its
subsidiary, AlwaysReady Inc.,
is that all active tags and many other types of sensor
devices require a power supply for use.
mPhase's Smart Nanobattery
can allow for the tag to remain in a quiescent state until
needed, providing power on demand.
mPhase's new Smart Nanobattery architecture promises an energy
source that can be packaged in various configurations, with shelf
life lasting decades, yet still able to be activated almost
instantaneously on demand. This has a distinct relevance with
active RFID applications. Various battery designs based on this
technology may deliver a new and unique component for system
design across many fields, including defense, healthcare,
industrial and consumer electronics.
Sovereign's CEO William A. Robinson was one of the
founding fathers of the "Global Positioning Systems"
(GPS) technology
Inspired by the limitation of the GPS technology (it would not
track under cover), Mr. Robinson began to formulate a concept for
a reverse GPS, in which small "Satellites"
(readers) could be placed in an indoor environment [ Ed: also
an outdoor environment ] allowing for tracking undercover.

Sen. Graham ( SC ) wants biometric ID to replace SS card -- Aug.
8, 2007
COLUMBIA --U.S.
Sen. Lindsey Graham said Tuesday he will introduce legislation to replace all paper Social Security cards with
plastic biometric cards that can't be duplicated, so
employers can be certain of the legal status of their workers.
Graham said he understands state lawmakers' opposition to
the federal 2005 REAL ID Act. South Carolina is among states that
rejected the unfunded federal mandate for national driver's
license standards, estimated to cost at least $11 billion.

Social Security card : Biometric only, or a smart card ? -- May
22, 2007
The Social Security card faces its first major
upgrade in 70 years under two immigration-reform proposals slated
for debate this week that would add
1. biometric information to the card and finally complete its
slow metamorphosis into a national ID.
The leading immigration proposal with traction in
Congress would force employers to accept only a very limited
range of approved documents as proof of work eligibility, including 2. a driver's license that meets new federal Real ID
standards,
3. a high-tech temporary
work visa or a U.S. passport with an RFID chip.
4. A fourth option is the national tamper-proof biometric Social
Security card, [Ed: smart card ? ] which
would replace the text-only design that's been issued to
Americans almost without change for more than 70 years.

The Strive Act : Biometric Social Security Card -- May 17, 2007
If they succeed, the bill will probably have
roughly the same contours as the leading House bill, known as the
Strive
Act, co-authored by Reps. John Flake (R-Arizona) and Luis
Gutierrez (D-Illinois).
The Strive Act would require employers to
verify a new employee's credentials -- by telephone or
the internet -- against databases maintained by the Social
Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
If the answer comes back as a "non-confirmation,"
the new hire would have the opportunity to update
any incorrect records.
The Strive Act's verification system is based on the Basic Pilot
Program, a currently voluntary program that lets businesses
verify new employees' work eligibility over the web. But that
program relies on databases prone to
inaccuracy, according to Tyler Moran, the
employment policy director at the National Immigration Law
Center.

Homeland Security evaluating chipped driver's license -- April
19, 2007

Dec. 31, 2009, for states to become compliant with Real ID

Also, Knocke explained, only licenses compatible with Real ID
will allow a person entry into places such as federal buildings
and critical infrastructure sites, including electrical plants,
nuclear facilities and military installations.
"I cannot imagine there's a state government
anywhere or a citizen from a state anywhere in America that wants
to be dragged up before a future 9/11 commission," he
argued, "and have to explain why they chose against
increasing the integrity of their state-issued driver's
licenses."
Finally, Knocke acknowledged to WND the Washington State RFID
"enhanced" driver's license might qualify
for compliance under Real ID as well as under the
Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

Guidelines for Real ID -- March 1, 2007

U.S. people that has ever been created," Sparapani said.
"This is the people who brought you long lines at the DMV

Citizens of states that don't abide by the
guidelines will not be able to enter federal courthouses or use
their identity cards to board a commercial flight
"The Real ID Act does not include language that lets DHS
prescribe privacy requirements, so there are no privacy
regulations related to exchange of personal information between
the states, none about skimming of the data on the magnetic
stripe, and no limits on use of information by the feds,"

Homeless receive "scan card" from Salvation Army , YWCA
"One homeless man likened his numbered ID
card to "the mark of the Beast" from the book of
Revelation.
Others compared the bar code to a Nazi tattoo
and the computer tracking system to something
out of George Orwell's "1984".
But most of the homeless people in Fort Worth seem to have
grudgingly accepted the high-tech
identification card that will soon be required for meals, shelter
and other services at the city's four largest agencies.
"Some people choose not to have them because it's like an
invasion of privacy," [ Ed: a false-"choice" ]
said Jana Webb, as she ate lunch at Union Gospel Mission last
week.
"I have one because you can't eat without them."
More than 2,400 homeless people have used the "scan
cards" to receive services since the Salvation Army began
issuing them last spring, according to Tarrant County Access,
which provides technical support for about 65 Tarrant County
social service agencies, including the homeless shelters.
The cards are a new tool in a data-tracking
system required
of agencies that receive federal grants for homeless services,
[ Ed: This is why we warned of faith-based programs long ago ]
said Access executive director Stephen Braun. By more accurately
counting the homeless and the services they receive, the cards
can help the agencies tailor their programs to help those people
get off the streets, he said. [ Ed: It sounds noble, but they are
already punitive, since one cannot eat without a "scan

The Salvation Army began issuing the photo
ID cards that use the Access-funded scan
system last spring [ 2006 ] . Union Gospel Mission followed suit
in December [ 2006 Ed: How sweet; just in time for the cold
season ] , Braun said. The YWCA
is also using the scan cards for its homeless child-care clients,
he said.
Meanwhile, shelter employees have been trying to prepare homeless
clients for the
universal scan cards, which have been met
with confusion and resistance from some clients.

" [ Ed: DHS will ] Have a private data
aggregator act as the central database. This is the
plan advocated by DHS. The plan calls for the outsourcing
of all drivers license and ID card checks to a private
corporation, who would then charge the states for each check
performed. DHS head Michael Chertoff personally ordered
this option to be chosen, according to a senior administration
source
"this is the outsourcing
of our Constitutional rights. It
means that all privacy protections on our drivers licence data
will be removed once the DMV sends your data to the private
corporation
The citizens of every state will not only be at
the mercy of a company like ChoicePoint or Acxiom to 'approve'
their identity, but will have no privacy protections whatsoever
on that data. Your sensitive drivers license data can be
bought and sold along with everything else these companies sell,
such as your credit information. The
federal government can then gain access to this information without having to comply with
any laws, such as the
Privacy Act.

"government is

Under the new law, the pharmacist will

So, get your card. It's for your own good"
It became clear last week that the
government will do anything to get this bill through parliament,
including ignoring its own manifesto pledge to make the cards
voluntary, a fact that we should remember as each of us entrusts
the 49 separate pieces of personal information to a national
database........
its sinister data base
Oddly enough, the compulsory provision of
personal information to the government database is not the
greatest threat to our freedom, though it is in itself a
substantial one. The real menace comes when
the ID card scheme begins to track everyone's movements and
transactions, the details of which will kept on the database for
as long as the Home Office desires....
What remains is the ceaseless
monitoring of people's lives. That is what the government is
forcing on us.

One of the most chilling passages in the

without this card, it will be almost impossible to function, to
exist as a citizen in the UK. Despite the cost to you, this card
